The Prompt Selector
The Prompt Selector helps you quickly change the style or tone of your writing. Each prompt is marked with a unique emoji for easy identification.
How to Use the Prompt Selector
Click the Prompt Selector button to see a dropdown list of options.
Select a prompt from the list. If you don't see the one you want, click the "More" button to open the full list of all available prompts.
Once you've chosen a prompt, click the forward button to apply the style to your text.
(Note: For most prompts, you must first highlight the text you want to modify. Some prompts don't require this. For a detailed explanation of each prompt and how to use it, please see the Modifier section.)
The Forward Play Button
The Forward Play Button is your main tool for generating and improving text. Its function changes depending on whether you've highlighted text or not.
To Continue Writing
To generate new text, simply place your cursor at the end of a sentence or paragraph and click the Forward Play Button. The app will then create a new sentence or paragraph based on the prompt you've selected.
For example:
With the Improve prompt selected, the sentence:
"A car drives down a deserted road"
can become:
A car drives down a deserted road, its headlights cutting through the thick fog that clings to the asphalt. Inside, the only sound is the rhythmic hum of the engine and the soft crackle of static from the radio, a lone beacon in the oppressive silence.
To Improve Existing Text
To rewrite something you've already written, highlight the text you want to change and click the Forward Play Button. The app will rewrite the highlighted text to better match your chosen prompt.
For example:
Highlight "A car drives down a deserted road" with the Improve prompt selected, it might change to:
The car crept along the desolate road, its headlights the only sign of life.
The Backward Play Button
This button reverses the effect of the selected prompt. Its result depends on the type of prompt you have selected.
For example:
If you highlight the following text with the Cool prompt selected:
A car drives down a deserted road with a plume of red dust and the low rumble of a V8 engine. The setting sun glints off the chrome bumper, leaving a trail of fire in its wake as it disappears over the horizon.
Clicking the Backward Play Button will change it to a simpler, more basic version:
A car drives down a dusty road as the sun sets. The car's engine rumbles softly.
In short, the Backward Play Button undoes the prompt's intended function. If you've chosen the Happy prompt, for instance, it will make the text sad.
The man happily sings along to the blasting radio in his car.
He just sat there, listening to the happy song on the radio, feeling sad.
