Menu Bar

The menu bar sits at the top of the editor and gives you access to all of the editor’s core features. The options available will change depending on whether you’re working on a Novel, Document, or Screenplay.

File

Action	What it does
New → Novel	Creates a new novel project.
New → Document	Creates a new document project.
New → Screenplay	Creates a new screenplay project.
Open	Opens an existing project.
Save	Saves your current project.
Export	Saves your work as an external file. See Export Options below.
Import	Brings an external file into the editor. See Import Options below.
Print	Prints the current document.
Exit	Closes the editor.

Export Options

The formats available depend on your project type.

Novel & Document:

• Formatted Text (.RTF)
• Plain Text (.TXT)
• PDF

Screenplay:

• Plain Text (.TXT)
• Formatted Text (.RTF)
• PDF
• Final Draft (.FDX)

Import Options

Novel:

• Formatted Text (.RTF)

Screenplay & others:

• Fountain
• Final Draft (.FDX)
• Formatted Text (.RTF)

Edit

Action	What it does
Undo	Reverses your last action.
Redo	Re-applies an action you undid.
Cut	Removes the selected text and copies it to your clipboard.
Copy	Copies the selected text to your clipboard.
Paste	Pastes content from your clipboard.
Select All	Selects all content in the editor.
Find	Opens the find bar to search within your document.
Settings	Opens the editor settings.

Insert

Note

This menu is only available when working on a Screenplay.

Use this to set the format type of the current block. A checkmark (✓) appears next to whichever type is currently active.

Action	What it does
Scene Heading	Formats the current block as a scene heading (slugline).
Action	Formats the current block as an action line.
Character	Formats the current block as a character cue.
Dialogue	Formats the current block as a dialogue line.
Parenthetical	Formats the current block as a parenthetical.
Transition	Formats the current block as a transition (e.g. CUT TO:).
Unformatted Text	Removes screenplay formatting from the current block.
Dual Dialogue	Formats the current block for two characters speaking simultaneously.

Add

Action	What it does
Image	Inserts an image into your document.
Table of Content	Inserts a table of contents based on your headings.
Text Block	Inserts a new text block.
Link	Inserts a hyperlink.
Template	Inserts a pre-made content template.

Format

Action	What it does
Bold	Makes the selected text bold.
Italic	Makes the selected text italic.
Underline	Underlines the selected text.
Text Align → Left	Aligns the current paragraph to the left.
Text Align → Center	Centers the current paragraph.
Text Align → Right	Aligns the current paragraph to the right.
Headings → Heading 1/2/3	Applies a heading style to the current paragraph.
List → Bullet List	Converts the current paragraph into a bullet list.
List → Ordered List	Converts the current paragraph into a numbered list.
Text Color	Changes the color of the selected text. Choose from Purple, Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Teal, Green, or Black.
Highlight	Highlights the selected text. Choose from Yellow, Green, Blue, Pink, Purple, Orange, or None to remove.
Fonts	Opens the font picker to change the typeface.

View

Action	What it does
Zoom	Adjusts the zoom level of the editor.
Page View	Toggles a paginated view of your document.
Continuous	Switches to a continuous scroll view.
Index Card	Switches to index card view for scene or chapter planning.
Full Screen	Expands the editor to fill your entire screen.
Word Count	Shows the word count for your document.

Action	What it does
Tool Bar	Shows or hides the formatting toolbar.
Chapters	Opens the chapters panel to navigate and manage your chapters.
AI Chat	Opens the AI assistant panel.
History	Opens the version history panel.
My Prompts	Opens your saved AI prompts.
AI Models	Opens the AI model selector.
