Custom Prompts

Custom prompts let writers save and reuse prompts they rely on frequently, eliminating the need to retype them each time. To access your custom prompts, click the smiley face icon in the center of the toolbar. This opens the Custom Prompts panel, which displays your 5 most recently used prompts, sorted with the most recent at the top.

How you use a custom prompt depends on how it was configured. Some prompts are designed to modify selected text, while others are designed to continue from your cursor position. Follow the appropriate workflow below based on your prompt type.

Selection-Based Modification

Use this workflow when your prompt is designed to rewrite, transform, or modify existing text.

  1. Select your custom prompt from the custom prompt dropdown box.

  2. Select the text you wish to modify.

  3. Then click on the Play Button that is located next to the custom prompt icon.

  4. The AI panel will open up, if not already open, and you will see the modified text.

Continuation-Based Generation

Use this workflow when your prompt is designed to generate new text that continues from an existing passage.

  1. Place your cursor at the end of the text you want to continue from.

  2. Click the smiley face icon and select your prompt.

  3. Click the Play button.

  4. The AI panel will open and display the generated continuation.
